Modern systems in fact are engineered to automatically control the airflow and maintain a balance. For instance, in car parking spaces, it is not possible to have windows and doors because these are usually below the basement level. Natural ventilation is not an option!

b. For various security and privacy reasons, natural ventilation ceases to even be an option. But with advances in mechanical ventilation systems such as ductless systems, it does not take up a lot of space and can properly ventilate a space while adhering to the highest standards of quality and does not harm the environment in any way as well.

c. No energy is consumed when a space is naturally ventilated. On the other hand, mechanical ventilation does make use of certain amount of energy but due to technological advances, even ductless ventilation systems have become energy efficient and it does not add to the carbon footprint but work towards reducing it.

d. In case of fire, natural ventilation is not going to do much good since it will not be able to eradicate the smoke fast enough for people to evacuate the space. But as for mechanical ventilation systems, they are built and designed to function is distress situations and increase airflow to get rid of the smoke.

e. Natural ventilation cannot regulate the thermal comfort of a space based on real-time measurement of internal and external temperature and pollutants but mechanical ventilation systems can. They can detect when the pollutant level is high and balance it out evenly.

To sum it up, natural ventilation is not really predictable whereas mechanical ventilation is in your hands and you can control the environment according to your requirements.
